ATP has raised over $9,000 for Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea over the last seven years to help cancer research - putting ATP among the top fundraisers in the Sydney region.
Held on Thursday, 26 May, ATP tenants were invited to a special morning tea to help raise vital funds. More than $465 was raised by tenants this year with ATPPML matching the funds dollar for dollar, bringing the total raised to $930. Exciting raffle prizes were up for grabs too with all proceeds going to Cancer Council Australia.
Jason Cronshaw from Cancer Council NSW attended the event and gave a heartfelt speech about how the funds raised make a real difference.
“In 2010 almost 1 million people participated in Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea and helped us raise more than $10.5 million nationally,” Jason said. “These funds help Cancer Council run vital research and prevention programs and in last year alone, we have:
• Funded more than $14.3 million worth of cancer research;
• Operated the Cancer Council Helpline reaching more than 16,000 people; and
• Provided $500,000 worth of emergency financial assistance
ATPPML is pleased to support such an important program. Roy Wakelin-King, Managing Director at ATPPML presented at the event saying: “Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is not only a good opportunity to meet other ATP tenants but is also a fantastic way to raise funds for a very important cause. I encourage everyone to take part in this fun and worthwhile event.”
