Chair - Dr Col Gellatly

Dr Col Gellatly is the current Chairperson of the Sydeny Metropolitan Development Authority, as of 1 July 2007. Dr Gellatly is the former Director-General of the Premier’s Department, a role which he held since being appointed in 1994. He has held a number of senior management positions within the NSW public service, including as Director General of the Department of Land and Water Conservation.

He has been NSW representative on a wide range of State/Commonwealth Working Parties and Committees and has had three periods as a part-time Commissioner with the Industries Assistance Commission. He has also served on a diverse range of boards and committees.

Dr Gellatly has a degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of New England, a Master of Commerce from the University of NSW and a PhD from North Carolina State University.

 

CEO - Roy Wakelin-King AM

Roy Wakelin-King was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of the Sydney Metropolitan Development Authority in December 2010. Roy is also Chief Executive Officer of the Redfern-Waterloo Authority and Managing Director of Australian Technology Park, a position he has held since 16 February 2009.

Prior to this, Roy has held the positions of Deputy Director General of the Office of Public Works & Services with the NSW Department of Commerce and Chief Executive Officer of the World Youth Day Co-ordination Authority, which coordinated the effective delivery of Government services in support of the highly successful World Youth Day 2008.

Roy has been an executive director within the NSW Ministry of Transport in the position of Director, Transport Operations Division and has extensive experience in both operations and project leadership, particularly in the fields of transport and logistics. His experience includes a short Army career as a commissioned officer, followed by a series of very senior project and operational appointments within the NSW Government.
 

Mr Michael Collins

Mike Collins is a Sydney property practitioner. He has been involved in property economics, real estate valuation, property consultancy and asset management for over 35 years, and is professionally qualified in property economics and valuation. He runs his own property advisory company based in the Sydney CBD.

Mike is the Chairman of the Barangaroo Delivery Authority. He is a board member of the Australian Technology Park Precinct Management Ltd, a former Chairman of the Heritage Council of NSW and a former National and NSW President of the Australian Property Institute.

Mr Richard Johnson MBE

Richard Johnson is an award winning architect and a director of Johnson Pilton Walker Architects. He was awarded the 2008 RAIA Gold Medal for his exceptional body of work and his contribution to the profession.

He is a Professor in the Faculty of the Built Environment at UNSW, A Fellow of the Australian Institute of Architects and a member of the Design Institute of Australia. He advises the Sydney Opera House Trust on the future of the building and is a member of the City of Sydney Design Advisory Panel. He serves on the Boards of the RWA, the ATP and the Australian Architects Association.

Mr Johnson holds a Bachelor of Architecture from UNSW and a Masters of Philosophy (Town Planning) from University College London. In 1976 he was made a member of the Order of the British Empire for services to Architecture.

 

Ms Lucy Turnbull LLB MBA

Lucy is a businesswoman and company director. She is a director of the board of Melbourne IT , an Australian publicly listed internet services company with operations in North America, Europe and Asia.

Lucy is currently the Chair of the Salvation Army’s City of Sydney Red Shield Appeal, Deputy Chair of the Committee for Sydney, and a member of the board of the Centre for Independent Studies and the Redfern Foundation Limited, and the Turnbull Foundation. She is also a board member of the NSW Cancer Institute.

For many years Lucy worked as a solicitor and as an investment banker. From 1999 to 2004 she was Sydney’s first female Lord Mayor ( 2003-4) and Deputy Lord Mayor ( 1999-2003). Lucy has also published a book titled Sydney – Biography of a City in 1999.
